Family sessions in the comfort of your own home? Say no more!

This family is so special to me. Meet Ezra (dad), Rhiannon (mom), Jane (BIG SIS!), and baby Lucy!

I first met the Shaners when Jane was born, and we did an in-home for her newborn sesh as well. Since then, they have built an amazing home from the ground up - with so many personal touches I knew we just had to include. But most importantly, Lucy was BORN in this home. It would feel criminal to rip her out of her safe, cozy home to a studio just for photos.

We started the morning as I often do with small children, following their lead. Jane really loves cheese sticks and dancing, so I just observe from a corner and snap away usually. Moving on to mom & baby snuggles, a little milk break, and then family pillow fights. Again, I'm just here to observe and preserve.

Once big sis is tapped out on photos, we move on to more intentional posing and wraps. This is where I like to give the moms a break. Not to brag or anything, but typically once I wrap that baby up, they are going night-nights. & from there, the magic happens organically. We can get so many different poses and angles from one wrap technique. Newborn sessions require lots of time and patience, and luckily - I'm a boy mom x 2..... so I have lots of that.

I'm so thankful to be invited back into the Shaners' lives multiple times throughout the years to capture these sweet moments for them. I hope you all enjoy looking through a glimpse of their session.
